Honduras is party to the Central America Border Control Agreement (CA-4). Under the terms of this agreement, visitors may travel within any of the CA-4 countries (Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Guatemala) for a period of up to 90 day. This period begins at the first point of entry of any of the CA-4 countries.
Fines are applied for visitors who exceed this 90-day limit. At the end of the 90 day period, visitors must exit the CA-4 region for 7 days. If you are expelled from any of the four countries you are also excluded from the entire CA-4 region.
Health Requirements
No health cards or shots are required for entry. Most visitors do not take any special medicines. However, as this is a tropical island where malaria is present, if you are concerned you should check with your doctor. Anti-malarial medicine is available on-island at several pharmacies.
